Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers to the questions new players ask most often about joining, setup, rewards, support, and day-to-day play.

What this FAQ covers

This FAQ is for anyone who is deciding whether to join Beauty in Blocks or needs help getting settled once they arrive. It covers the practical details players usually need first, especially for Java and Bedrock setup.

If you are looking for server basics, start here before moving on to the rules, voting page, or map. The answers below also cover the current voting rewards and Discord-linked progression so new players can understand the perk system without hunting through old posts.

Java — Use the copy button on the home page to copy the play.beautyinblocks.com address.

Open Minecraft and navigate to Multiplayer → Add Server.
Paste play.beautyinblocks.com into the server address field (name it whatever you want).
Click Connect and you'll join the server!

Bedrock — First copy the Bedrock server address bedrock.beautyinblocks.com.
Open Minecraft and navigate to Play → Servers Tab → Add Server.
Paste bedrock.beautyinblocks.com into the server address field.
Copy the Bedrock port number 25956 from the home page as well.
In Minecraft, paste 25956 into the port field (name it whatever you want).
Click Add and Play and you'll join the server.

(The server will now show up at the bottom of the list of servers on the left side of the Server Tab.)
Open the Map page from the navigation, or click the "Open Map" card on the home page. From there, you can explore the embedded BlueMap or open the full map in a new tab.
No — the Modpack is purely to enhance visuals and increase QoL. It's only available on the Java edition of Minecraft through the CurseForge Launcher.
Firstly, make sure you install the CurseForge Launcher from their website curseforge.com.

Once you've installed their launcher, make sure you select Minecraft as the game you'll be modding.

Navigate to their "Discover" tab. Once there, type "Beauty in Blocks" into the search bar at the top of the page and hit search.

"Beauty in Blocks Recommended Mods" should show up at the top. The image on the left should match the logo image on the home page of our website.

Simply click the Install button on the right side of the screen and CurseForge should install the Modpack!

Once installed, click the Play button that appears on the Modpack under the "My Modpacks" tab. It may take a while to load if it's your first time depending on your game and your PC specs.
Yes — as long as the entire Modpack is client-side only, you'll have no issues connecting to the server!
Once per day the server will stop, backup, then restart. This happens at 6 a.m. Eastern Time.

The server will start to notify you 30 minutes in advance to get to a good stopping point. It should only take a few minutes to restart.
Click the "Join Discord" button on the home page of this website.

If you want the in-game progression rewards tied to Discord, use /link after you join.
Every vote gives 1-5 Emeralds and 25-60 XP.

If you vote on more than one site, the rewards stack for each site you complete.
Voting on all 4 sites in one day gives you 1 Diamond, 1 XP Level, the 24-hour Voter role, and access to /workbench.
Vote on at least 1 site every day for a full week.

That earns you 2 Diamond Blocks, 5 XP Levels, the 7-day Supporter role, plus /anvil and /condense.
1st place gets 1 Netherite Block, 20 XP Levels, a month-long Lobbyist role, and /top.

2nd place gets 5 Diamond Blocks, 5 XP Levels, a month-long Lobbyist role, and /top.

3rd place gets 16 Iron Blocks, 5 XP Levels, a month-long Lobbyist role, and /top.
Linking Discord gives you the Regular role and puts you on the linked Discord progression track.

In the current LuckPerms export, Regular adds no new player command beyond Default, Active adds chat color codes, Contributor adds chat formatting, and Elite currently adds no extra command node beyond Contributor.
Yes — Regular, Active, Contributor, and Elite stay with you unless you leave the Discord or unlink your account.
The temporary voting roles inherit each other: Voter gives /workbench, Supporter gives /workbench, /anvil, and /condense, and Lobbyist gives /workbench, /anvil, /condense, and /top.

The Discord-linked track currently changes chat permissions instead: Regular adds no extra command beyond Default, Active adds chat color codes, Contributor adds chat formatting, and Elite currently adds no extra command node beyond Contributor.
If you're on Bedrock, add a leading . before your username on the voting site.

Because of how Bedrock players connect, that leading period is required for the reward to route correctly.
If you're offline when you vote, your reward is added to the queue and delivered the next time you log in.
